Bathing suit top and jean shorts. (Can’t remember the last time I actually bought or wore a swimsuit.)
These jean shorts (from torrid) were the first shorts I wore in public in years. They fit me fairly well/lose over summer. I want to get back to that. And arms. Definitely want to work on my arms.
I’ve been following opfabs since the beginning but have just been lagging on officially committing my participation. (scared maybe?)
Operation FINE/FULFILLED in Any Bathing Suit.
At nearly 250 lbs. nothing will actually get me fabulous or fit or fierce in a bathing suit in three short months. But I think I’ve already decided that what I need most in my life right now has little to do with my physical appearance. (Man, has it taken a long time for me to figure that out.)
Above all, my goal is to feel fulfilled again. I feel like I’ve been failing in all areas of my life lately (school, work, work2, work3, health) and I just need to feel accomplished again. Not in any big sense, but just enough to feel like I’m checking things of a figurative list. That I am capable of carrying out my goals and achieving them.
And fine. I’ve visiting my best friend in Phoenix at the end of July for our birthdays. For poolside bathing suits, shopping shorts and dinner dresses, I just want to feel fine and completely unconcerned with how I look, how much my fat arms show etc. etc. Obviously this is also a very mental thing, but improving on the physical couldn’t hurt.

But this blog is about muscles AND curves.
This is Laura (same girl from the video I just posted) at her starting point at 190 lbs.
She’s my height. If i looked like that at 190, i’d be stoked. She says it in a later video, but she did carry her weight really well.
My point is, however, I love her perspective on the whole thing. She always had confidence. She was never ashamed of her body. In fact, at all her weights, she tells you things she’s fond of and how things are progressing. Her video said she wanted to lose 50 lbs. And she does, but along the way she talks about being happy with how she looks at 170 and probably not wanting to go below 160.
She never gets caught up on the number. and I love that! She never obsesses about how a certain part of her body looks. That is my goal.
I had seen before and afters of Laura but didn’t know anything about her story (or even recognize her when I first started watching any of her videos).
Her body is amazing and it’s really cool to see at stages in her progress (because, yes, I did just watch all 20 of her videos on youtube).
But more so than just seeing her weight going down and her body change, I loved seeing her knowledge and interests change. (She always had a lot of confidence) From looking at her website, she is now a beach body coach. In the beginning, her interests seemed like casual running and a variety of other/normal/thingspeoplealwayssay. But watching her latest videos, she’s much more interested in the science of it now and that’s awesome to see. It’s just another aspect of weightloss I think is inspiring.
March is definitely going to be my month. I’ll be turning 20 on the 23rd and I want to be 195 by then. It would be the ultimate birthday gift to myself.Make March your best month yet! :D
